The Cubs had taken a 1-0 lead on Anthony Rizzo‘s RBI single. One out later, Kyle Schwarber walked to load the bases, and Contreras followed with the slam, which sailed 393 feet into the basket rimming the outfield wall in left-center.

It was Contreras’ first home run since April 24, and it came on his bobblehead day.

Contreras’ bobblehead features him in his catcher’s gear, and he showed off his skills in the White Sox third. Tyler Chatwood walked both Matt Davidson and Tim Anderson to open the inning, and on the Cubs’ starter’s first pitch to pitcher Hector Santiago, Contreras fired to second to pick off Davidson. It was a perfect throw to shortstop Addison Russell, who put the tag on Davidson.
