Heredia, Mariners walk off vs. Rangers in 11th

Replacing Robinson Cano’s bat wasn’t an issue for one night, as the Mariners outslugged the Rangers, 9-8, in 11 innings in the opener of a two-game series on Tuesday night at Safeco Field. Without Cano, who received an 80-game suspension earlier in the day, and Nelson Cruz, who left with a bruised right foot, Seattle pounded out 15 hits. Texas scored a run in the 9th to tie the game and eventually force extras.
